Hull | 19 hours per week | 52 weeks per year

As our Lecturer in Art and Design, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of courses, supporting learners to develop their knowledge, practical skills and confidence throughout their programme of study.

Make a Real Impact
As Lecturer in Art and Design, you will work closely with curriculum leaders, teachers and senior leaders to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment. You will support, challenge and coach staff, ensuring high expectations are embedded and that quality processes deliver meaningful impact for learners.
You will:
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of students of all ages and abilities
- Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials, using Canvas
- Coordinate and support course activities which will support the achievement of curriculum area targets
- Take responsibility for and facilitate academic tutorials for students
- Be involved in the marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students, including attending open events, school tasters and enrolment events, amongst other activities
- Assess, monitor, and record feedback to students to facilitate their best achievement using the College’s data systems and processes, working to exam board guidelines and quality systems
- Lead, coordinate and support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area
- Work closely with staff and managers within the College to ensure consistency and best practice is shared
- Contribute to the quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of their subject specialism
- Complete all mandatory training in a timely manner and ensure that training is updated in accordance with College guidance/regulations
- Actively comply and contribute to the College’s policies and procedures, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection
About You
You will be an experienced and credible education professional with:
- Subject specialism (minimum Level 3/4)
- Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Experience of working in an academic setting and working with learners to support their needs
- Knowledge of the specialist sector
- Organisational, administrative and time management skills
- Ability to use own initiative to develop and improve the service within the constraints of the College policy and procedures
