Welcome/Cafe Assistants at The Sill and Walltown

The Northumberland National Park Authority is dedicated to conserving and enhancing one of the UK’s most beautiful and historic landscapes. We’re seeking passionate and friendly individuals to join our team at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team working across our busy café and retail team, to promote Northumberland National Park, The Sill and the surrounding area. Food preparation and kitchen experience would be ideal but not essential. You would need some knowledge of Northumberland National Park and the surrounding area. We are based in Bardon Mill and Greenhead, Northumberland.

Shifts can be weekdays or weekends and school/bank holidays. Please provide details of your availability in your application.

  • A calm and friendly approach
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Recent experience of working in tourism, retail or a cafe
  • Good knowledge of Northumberland National Park
  • Effective IT skills including use of a cash register
  • Willingness to help other team members
  • May be required to work at other sites from time to time (Walltown kiosk near Greenhead).
  • Dependable, reliable, flexible and a good timekeeper.

Fixed term contract until 31/10/26. Variable hours. £12.85 per hour
