Kent Dairy Company is looking for a reliable, flexible and customer-focused HGV Class 2 (Category C) Relief Driver to join our team.

As a Relief Driver, you will play an important role in supporting our transport operation by covering annual leave, scheduled rest days, sickness, training days and other driver absences. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HGV driver who enjoys variety and is comfortable working across different delivery routes and schedules.

What You'll Be Doing

As one of our professional Relief Drivers, you'll help ensure our customers continue to receive their deliveries safely and on time whenever regular drivers are unavailable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Starting your working day at 3:00am.
• Providing cover for drivers during holidays, scheduled rest days and other absences.
• Completing daily vehicle safety and compliance checks.
• Checking your load to ensure it is secure and meets customer requirements.
• Delivering dairy products to wholesale and commercial customers.
• Working across a variety of delivery routes and customer accounts as required.
• Obtaining signed proof of delivery.
• Reporting vehicle defects promptly.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle.
• Carrying out manual handling duties, including unloading deliveries and collecting returnable items.
• Adapting to changes in routes, schedules and operational requirements.
• Representing Kent Dairy Company professionally at all times.

What We're Looking For

You'll need:

• A valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence.
• A current Driver CPC (DQC) card.
• The right to work in the UK.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The flexibility to work across different routes and cover driver absences.
• The ability to work independently while being part of a wider transport team.

Newly qualified HGV drivers are encouraged to apply.

Previous experience in multi-drop, wholesale or commercial deliveries would be advantageous, but full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Working Pattern

• Permanent, full-time position.
• 3:00am start on working days.
• Primarily providing cover for annual leave, scheduled rest days, sickness, training and other driver absences.
• Flexible working pattern according to operational requirements.
• Rotating 5-day/6-day working pattern in line with HGV drivers' hours regulations, including a 45-hour rest period every second week.
