Do you thrive on winning new business, opening doors and turning conversations into revenue?

We’re looking for a driven, energetic and commercially hungry Business Development Executive to join the team at The Fox Excel, a vibrant Warehouse Bar & Restaurant and The Fox Connaught, a traditional east London pub both located next to ExCeL London — one of the UK’s busiest exhibition and events destinations.

This isn’t a desk-based sales role waiting for enquiries to land. We’re looking for someone who gets a buzz from proactively creating opportunities, building relationships and generating revenue from scratch.

From corporate events to large private functions, Christmas parties and celebrations, your mission is simple: identify opportunities, win new business and drive sales growth across our venues.

Working closely with our Group Sales & Events Manager, you'll focus on building a strong pipeline of new clients across The Fox Excel and The Fox Connaught, developing both B2B and B2C revenue streams and ensuring our venues remain front of mind for businesses, exhibitors and local communities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Prospecting and generating new business opportunities daily through outreach, networking and relationship building
  • Identifying and converting corporate accounts, agencies, exhibitors and event organisers into repeat customers
  • Building and managing a proactive sales pipeline with a strong focus on new business revenue
  • Attending networking events, exhibitions and local business forums to build relationships and uncover opportunities
  • Developing LinkedIn outreach campaigns and social selling activity
  • Cold calling, lead generation and targeted sales activity to drive venue awareness
  • Maximising major ExCeL London events and its community of attendees to capture new business opportunities
  • Driving Christmas, seasonal and key calendar campaigns to maximise revenue
  • Managing enquiries and converting opportunities into confirmed business
  • Consistently achieving KPI’s, pipeline and revenue targets

We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves sales and has a genuine passion for winning new business
  • Has a proven track record in business development, proactive sales or account generation
  • Is a self-starter who can work independently, create opportunities and maintain momentum without requiring constant direction
  • Is self-motivated, highly driven and takes ownership of delivering results
  • Is highly resilient, target-driven and thrives on exceeding expectations
  • Is confident approaching people face-to-face, over the phone and online
  • Enjoys networking and naturally builds strong relationships
  • Can think commercially and spot opportunities others miss
  • Is organised and confident managing a pipeline, balancing proactive outreach with structured follow-up activity
  • Is confident using CRM and booking systems to track activity, manage opportunities and maximise conversion opportunities
  • Experience using Collins booking systems and Capual/Capital platforms would be advantageous, although training can be provided
  • Works with pace, energy and accountability
  • Comfortable working to a KPI structure
  • Hospitality experience is beneficial, but a strong sales mentality and drive to win is more important
