Full job description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a dedicated SEND Hub at one of our partner primary schools in Stechford, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs.

The school are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND. Working within the school's Hub, you will support children through individual and small group activities, helping them develop their communication, independence and confidence while making progress in their learning.

Through a nurturing approach and strong pastoral support, the school encourages pupils to develop emotionally, socially and academically, helping each child achieve their individual potential.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs within the school's SEND Hub.
  • Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs and abilities.
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional development.
  • Encouraging independence, positive behaviour and engagement in learning activities.
  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans and monitor pupil progress.

Required Skills and Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND within a UK primary school or specialist provision.
  • A good understanding of strategies used to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
  • Confidence providing 1:1 and small group support, adapting activities to suit individual pupils.
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:
  • £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,055 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (195 days), dependent on experience and days worked.
