Full job description

Heritage Grange at THURSTON, Suffolk are seeking a TEAM MEMBER to join the team, with an IMMEDIATE start. This is a temporary role only until the end of September, but may be renewed.

You must be able to work weekends for this role!

The team member would be expected to perform the following duties.

This is a hands on role and is not simply sitting at a desk! You must be proactive and willing to learn!

  • Assisting the Directors in covering reception duties
  • Housekeeping 2 -3 days per week. I.e. cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas, changing beds.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Have good communication skills with all departments and be able to advise on requirements and priorities for the day in the absence of the directors
  • Have excellent computer skills particularly word, excel, Microsoft packages
  • Strong organisational skills, documentation skills and time management.
  • Assist in managing weddings, conferences and functions for up to 140 guests, with a full compliment of front of house staff.
  • Look after our customers; ensure that they are attended to with the highest of care.
  • Be responsible for making sure that customers are happy.
  • Take room bookings, restaurant bookings, function bookings, and conference bookings.
  • Be able to explain the product in detail to customers, and understanding what their needs are.
  • Be able to take wedding bookings and engage with our customers in a friendly and non-judgemental manner.
  • Liaise with kitchen and provide them with information as required.
  • Manage and serve customers at the restaurant / bar and reception.
  • Perform the occasional stay over, which entails staying overnight.
  • Management of tills and responsibility for ensuring that there are no discrepancies at the end of your shift. Responsibility for cashing up tills.

We are looking for a friendly enthusiastic, self-motivated person with an eye to attention to detail. This role is 4 -5 days over 7, which includes evening’s and weekends and will be approximately 20 - 35 hours per week, although your hours are not guaranteed.

This is a very hands on role, which involves juggling lots of things. We are ideally seeking someone that can be moulded and trained but that can initially show the skills required to perform all of the above and then develop from there.

You must demonstrably show that you can provide the highest levels of satisfaction and customer service, through attending to customer needs, serving customers, taking care of their needs.

Remuneration will be dependent on experience.

This role is available on a 4 month fixed term contract initially.
