We are looking to recruit a Management Accountant as a new role within our Financial Governance team on a permanent basis.

Your role

As a Management Accountant within Financial Governance, you will provide constructive, commercial and cost-effective financial support and expertise to help the RNLI maximise its income and minimise its expenditure.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will work closely with both Management and Financial Reporting Accountants as well as the wider Finance team to drive the accuracy of in-year accounting entries through high-quality review of Income & Expenditure and Balance Sheet accounts. You will also provide support in delivering the provision of accurate and timely management accounts on a monthly basis.

You will work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis Team and wider finance team to determine issues and potential improvements to improve financial data and reporting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency of data and processes and working practices. This may involve creating new reports or developing existing reports as required.

You will act as a subject matter expert and point of contact on transactions and activities covered in your role, providing timely support whenever required.

About you

To be our next management Accountant, you should:

  • Hold a recognised accountancy qualification, be working towards a qualification or be qualified by significant experience.
  • Have significant accounting experience, including Management Accounts preparation and a good understanding of financial processes and controls.
  • Be an organised team-player with good attention to detail and the ability to consistently provide a high standard of work within deadlines.
  • Have the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be confident and comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
