The role ensures delivery of annual resuscitation updates (basic, intermediate and advanced life support), trauma life support approaches, and associated statutory skills training.
The post holder will oversee Trust-based courses, ensuring they provide individual and crew-based coaching, supported by structured clinical debriefing when required, and contributing to the Trust’s clinical governance agenda relating to resuscitation and recognition and treatment of the deteriorating patient care.
Provide expert input to support the delivery of resuscitation and life support training across the Trust.
Ensure compliance with the Core Skills Training Framework for resuscitation.
Work across the Trust supporting excellence in resuscitation delivery across operations, the Academy and corporate teams.
Provide subject matter expertise, clinical supervision and support following cardiac arrest and peri-arrest incidents when required.
Maintain high levels of clinical credibility through maintenance of a portfolio to evidence clinical competence.
Promote evidence-based practice within YAS that is in line with JRCALC, RCUK, NICE and wider resuscitation guidance.
Contribute to the Trust’s strategic clinical delivery of emergency care and drive improvements of community resuscitation outcomes.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.
We serve a population of over five million people across Yorkshire and the Humber and strive to ensure that patients receive the right response to their care needs as quickly as possible, wherever they live.
We employ more than 7,100 staff, who together with over 1,300 volunteers, enable us to provide a vital 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, emergency and healthcare service.
Our ambition is to be an employer of choice, and we are continuously working across our partnership to improve our collective offer to staff in areas like health and wellbeing, benefits and flexible working incl. hybrid working.
