Laurel House Surgery is looking for a friendly, organised and patient-focused Receptionist to join our busy family practice. We operate across two sites in Tamworth and Fazeley and pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of care to our patients.

This is a key front-of-house role within our reception and administrative team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Greeting patients and visitors
  • Booking appointments and signposting to appropriate services
  • Managing patient enquiries
  • Processing new patient registrations
  • Maintaining and administering the waiting room system
  • Liaising with GPs and the wider Reception/Administrative Team
  • Undertaking general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice
  • Carrying out any additional duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Partners or Management Team

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous GP Reception experience
  • Confident using computer systems (EMIS experience desirable)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment

Working Pattern – 17.5 h

  • Monday: 12:30pm -6.30pm
  • Tuesday: OFF
  • Wednesday: 12:30pm - 6.30pm
  • Thursday: OFF
  • Friday: 1.00pm - 6.30pm
