About Camphill Village Trust
Camphill Village Trust is a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges. Now in our 72nd year, our focus on humanity and nature was inspired by our past and remains as key to the Trust’s ethos today. This role will be based at our Delrow Community in Watford. Delrow can be difficult to access by public transport, so please check the journey using postcode WD25 8DJ before applying.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
- Using person-centred approaches, work as part of a team to promote the rights and choices of the people we support whilst maintaining their health, safety, dignity and privacy, thus enabling them to lead a meaningful life, whilst also empowering them to be as independent as possible.
- Work under the direction of the team leader to plan and provide support and care to promote well-being and development in accordance with person-centred support and care plans.
- Work co-productively on the support plan, recording and reviewing progress as directed so that the people we support can fulfil their potential for independence, choice, inclusion and control.
- Encourage the people we support to: maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming living environment/ use appropriate laundry equipment so they have clean, suitable clothing to wear/ plan, shop for and prepare healthy and wholesome meals/ maintain health and well-being by assisting them to arrange and attend medical appointments/ look after and understand their finances and access benefits/ understand and maintain their tenancy and access services from their landlord/ maintain an active and supportive social life, considering individual choices and wishes.
- Where the appropriate registration is in place, assist with or arrange for personal care where required (for example bathing and hair washing). Please note that this may involve supporting people to the toilet, to manage incontinence, to bathe and shower etc and enable people to manage all of this, with regard for their dignity and privacy.
- Administer, record, order, check and count medication.
- Undertake related paperwork including support plans, daily updates, person profiles, risk assessments, incident reporting, behaviour reports and notes/updates on health appointments.

- A basic understanding of English and Maths in relation to writing daily notes and supporting with finances.

- Be able to remain calm in stressful situations and respond appropriately to any challenges or situations that may occur.
- Understand the limitations of the role and when to seek support from more experienced staff and those in a more senior position.
The position will consist of day shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts and sleep-ins, on a rota basis.
Key Employment Terms
- Salary: £26,052 per annum.
- Location: Delrow Community in Watford.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave statutory plus bank holidays.
- 45p per mile for all work journeys is provided.
- Sick pay entitlement after 1 month.
- Standard auto-enrolment pension scheme, with the option to contribute 10% of gross salary for a 6% contribution by the employer.
- Employee assistance scheme that is also available to your immediate family.
- Death in Service benefits: payments made to your beneficiaries should the unthinkable happen.

- The appointment is subject to a 6-month probation period.
