Full job description
Are you an experienced MSK physiotherapist who combines advanced clinical practice with the energy and commercial awareness to help a private clinic grow? The Oxford Physiotherapy Service (TOPS:health) is looking for a dynamic senior clinician who can deliver excellent outcomes, build lasting patient relationships and make a visible contribution to the success of our Oxford clinics.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on clinical role for someone who wants more than a routine caseload. You will assess and manage a broad range of MSK presentations, use advanced clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills, and create treatment plans that patients understand, value and actively participate in. You will work across a varied caseload of self-funding and private medical insurance clients.
This is an opportunity to influence clinical standards, contribute to service development and be part of an experienced team as an autonomous practitioner.
For our self-funding clients, we expect you to act as a trusted clinical partner. That means listening carefully, collaborating to set and achieve meaningful goals, explaining options clearly and helping each patient make informed decisions about their care. You will understand the realities of private practice and be confident discussing treatment options, supporting patient engagement and helping the clinic deliver sustainable growth through excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience.
We are particularly interested in clinicians who have developed advanced assessment and treatment skills, have a strong track record in private practice and are motivated by delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Your patients aren’t paying for appointments, they’re paying for outcomes. We believe physiotherapy is most effective when patients understand their condition, feel confident in the plan and take an active role in their recovery. We are looking for a clinician who can build trust, create clarity and help patients achieve meaningful outcomes
What you will do
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of MSK conditions.
- Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation alongside skilled hands-on treatment techniques. You will be skilled in manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, exercise rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, persistent pain management and the wider remit of physiotherapy practice, such as lifestyle coaching.
- Develop clear, personalised treatment plans with measurable goals and regular progress reviews.
- Build strong therapeutic relationships that engage patients as active collaborators in their recovery.
- Communicate the value, purpose and expected outcomes of treatment clearly and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, governance and patient care.
- Contribute ideas and practical action to improve patient experience, clinic performance and sustainable growth.
- Work effectively with colleagues, referrers and external partners as a key colleague within our small team.
What we are looking for
- HCPC registration and CSP membership.
- At least three years’ experience in private MSK practice.
- Advanced MSK assessment, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills.
- Strong practical capability in appropriate hands-on and manual therapy techniques.
- A successful track record of managing a varied MSK caseload and achieving positive patient outcomes.
- An engaging, confident and patient-centred communication style.
- The ability to motivate patients, support informed choice and build long-term trust.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in helping a quality-led private clinic grow.
- Strong organisation, time management and digital skills.
What we offer
- Salary from £38,000, with potential up to £50,000 depending on experience.
- Permanent, full-time contract with flexible hours available.
- 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays.
- Company pension.
- Protected continuing professional development time.
- At least one fully funded external development course each year.
- A structured appraisal and personal development plan.
- Clinical mentoring and a robust in-house development programme.
- Optional paid overtime.
- Genuine scope to influence the clinic and progress your career in a growing organisation.
- Progression path to ‘Lead Clinician’ and wider involvement within our group of brands.
