Community Care Practitioner - Domiciliary Care

Location: North Tyneside and surrounding areas

Join Unisus Care - A Professional and Supportive Care Provider

Unisus Care is currently recruiting compassionate, reliable Care Assistants to support individuals in their own homes across North Tyneside.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals to remain independent, safe, and comfortable within their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care and support with daily living activities
  • Supporting mobility, nutrition, and hydration needs
  • Assisting with medication in line with training and company procedures
  • Supporting with household tasks and appointments
  • Promoting dignity, independence, and individual choice
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare professionals

Pay, Hours and Benefits

  • £12.71 per hour (basic rate)
  • Paid travel time and waiting time
  • Mileage paid at £0.35 per mile between calls
  • Don't drive? No problem we have you covered. Unisus can reimburse you 50% of your travel expenses e.g. bus/metro tickets.
  • Weekly pay (every Friday)
  • Company pension scheme (subject to eligibility)

Working Pattern

  • Flexible working patterns available
  • Shifts typically operate between 07:00 and 23:00
  • Includes a requirement to work alternate weekends

Specific working arrangements will be discussed at interview, balancing service needs with individual availability where possible.

Induction and Training

All successful applicants are required to complete a paid induction programme prior to working independently. This includes:

  • Face-to-face training at our North Tyneside office
  • Practical and theory-based sessions (including medication, moving and handling, and basic life support)
  • Completion of online learning modules
