Are you an experienced Hotels & Hospitality General Manager looking for an exciting venture you can really get stuck in to?

Theobalds Estate- a 140+ room, Hotel, Health Club, Spa and Estate, in 55 acres of stunning grounds, in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire- now seeking applications for our Hotel General Manager to lead the business through it's most exciting period- being the very first hotel in IHG's Noted Collection.

Recognising the prestige and individual character of Theobalds Estate- with the striking Mansion House and outstanding scenery, it is a unique site to run.

The aspirational Health Club- with state of the art equipment, coaching techniques, fitness classes and approach to wellness, along with the plans for the Spa and Wellness Treatments- including hyperbaric chambers, Red Light therapy and Vitamin treatments, the Lido, Outdoor Pool and Paddl areas, all add to the Hotel's charm.

To be successful in leading this site you will need to be adept at balancing competing schedules and priorities. With many facets to the business you will be experienced in building and leading large teams, empowering them to be part of the site's achievements.

You must have proven experience within a similar Hotel and resort based management role, with over 100 rooms, multiple restaurants, bars, leisure, conferencing and events divisions within your remit.

Surya Hotels are recruiting for a Hotel General Manager- to lead Theobalds Estate, Hotel, Wellness and Spa, to lead the site team through significant refurbishment, growth and launching IHG's Noted Collection brand into the UK.

To be successful as Theobalds' Estate Hotel General Manager you will have:

  • Management Experience in 4* hotels, with 100+ rooms
  • Phenomenal experience leading Hotel teams, across all divisions- delighting and enhancing guest experience
  • Significant experience with Leisure, Gym and Wellness, and Conferencing and Events divisions
  • Strategically grown business YOY- throughout
  • Driven and maintained exemplary standards across the Hotel
  • Experience in branded Hotels- IHG branding significantly advantageous
  • Insight in to luxury and niche hotel market, specifically aware of opportunities and ways to increase Events and F&B footfall
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams, across a number of divisions, e.g. Restaurant, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Reception
  • Confidence in your numerical dexterity to crunch the numbers, drive occupancy, ARR and achieve best stock control and ROI- you know your P&L inside-out
  • Compassion to lead, motivate, recruit, inspire and develop your teams-
  • Proven experience being hands on whilst seeing the bigger picture to increase your Multi Million £ business
  • Proven ability to work autonomously within an evolving framework- being part of a Group
  • Confidence in your measurables; P&L, guest feedback, ARR, Occupancy levels, Audits and Team stability

Our ideal Hotel General Manager would have:

  • Experience within a similar hotel or resort role with significant site leadership and P&L responsibility- IHG branded experience is significantly advantageous
  • Strong Hospitality Background, across all areas of hotels; accommodation, high volume restaurants and bars, busy, high value prestigious events, luxury spa and wellness,
  • Excellent management skills, including team interactions and leadership, time management of projects and competing deadlines, experience liaising closely with all levels of stakeholders- including C-Suite and private owners
  • Commercially astute to monitor and analyse trends and identify opportunities for growth
