A new year-round activity centre, accommodating a family climbing facility, soft play, gym, coffee shop and community event space.

The role

To support the Manager in the safe, smooth, and profitable running of Newquay Rocks Leisure Centre, ensuring excellent customer service, effective staff supervision, high operational standards, and a consistently positive guest experience across all areas of the facility.

· Supervising the day-to-day running of Newquay Rocks Leisure Centre, ensuring all areas operate safely, smoothly, and efficiently

· Leading the team on shift, providing guidance, support, and clear direction across the centre

· Maintaining excellent standards of customer service, presentation, cleanliness, safety, and guest experience throughout the facility

· Supporting staff training in centre procedures, customer service, safe working practices, food hygiene, allergens, and operational standards

· Assisting with stock control, stock takes, receiving deliveries, and reducing waste across relevant areas of the centre

· Checking quality and quantity of stock, monitoring dates, and ensuring products and equipment are stored correctly

· Handling customer queries, complaints, incidents, and allergen requests calmly and professionally

· Ensuring the centre complies with health, safety, food hygiene, allergen, safeguarding, and operational procedures

· Supporting events, group bookings, parties, activities, and busy service periods where required

· Taking responsibility for opening, closing, and key-holder duties when required

· Working flexibly across Newquay Rocks, including the climbing facility, soft play, gym, coffee shop, and community event space, to support safe and effective daily operations

Who We're Looking For:

We’re looking for a professional, friendly, confident individual who can supervise a busy leisure centre team and meet the following essential requirements:

· Previous experience supervising or managing a team, ideally in a leisure, hospitality, activity centre, gym, café, or customer-facing environment

· A strong team player with a high level of professionalism

· An enthusiastic leader who motivates and inspires others

· Ability to take responsibility, delegate effectively, and provide clear, positive leadership

· Commitment to consistently meeting high standards through responsible team management

· Committed to delivering excellent 5-star customer service and consistently high standards across the leisure centre

· Confident handling customer queries, complaints, and incidents calmly and professionally

· Good awareness of health and safety, safe working practices, food hygiene, allergens, stock control, and general operational procedures

· Strong initiative and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment

· Reliable and punctual

Although we look for supervisory or hospitality experience, full training will be provided.

We will conduct full DBS checks, for all team members working within Newquay Rocks

Pay: £15.35 per hour
