Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiting Staff Member to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring customers enjoy a memorable dining experience. This role requires a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The successful applicant will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout their shift.

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they are comfortably seated
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using the point-of-sale system
  • Serve meals, beverages, and desserts efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during service
  • Clear tables promptly and assist with setting up for subsequent service periods
  • Assist in food preparation or kitchen duties as required, ensuring smooth operation during busy periods
  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including polishing cutlery and glassware
  • Handle guest queries professionally and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently at the end of each table’s dining experience

Experience

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; full training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling is desirable
  • Experience with serving or guest services roles demonstrates strong customer focus skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively during busy service hours to ensure prompt delivery of orders
  • A friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills to engage positively with guests and team members
