Job title: Cafe All Rounder

About us - We are a friendly, bustling café situated in Rotherham Council’s Riverside House. We are known for freshly prepared breakfasts, sandwiches, lunches, and specialty coffee. We pride ourselves on fast, friendly service, a clean welcoming space, and high-quality food made to order.

Role overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and customer-focused Café All rounder to lead our café team, event catering, and ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operation.

You’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for customers, supporting and developing the team, maintaining high standards of food, service and cleanliness, and ensuring the café and our lunchtime events operate efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing the café team
  • Managing day-to-day café and our catering event operations and ensuring excellent customer service
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and health & safety
  • Managing rotas, staffing levels and day-to-day team performance
  • Monitoring stock, ordering supplies and minimising waste
  • Managing cash handling, daily takings and basic financial controls
  • Supporting sales growth and identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are followed
  • Dealing confidently and professionally with customer feedback and queries
  • Creating a positive, friendly and inclusive team culture

Hours are generally Monday - Fridays - day times with a 3.30pm finish.

Weekend or evening shifts rarely required (unless we have an event request).
