Full job description

We’re looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant to join us at Kinloch Hotel, creating relaxed, memorable experiences and helping every guest feel genuinely welcome on the Isle of Arran.

About This Role
As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you’ll help deliver warm, attentive service across Kinloch’s restaurant and bar. You’ll welcome guests, take accurate orders, answer menu questions, serve food and drinks, handle payments and keep tables and service areas clean, organised and inviting.

You’ll work closely with kitchen, bar and hotel colleagues to keep communication clear and service flowing smoothly. You’ll communicate dietary requirements carefully and follow food hygiene, allergen, licensing and health and safety standards at all times.

If you enjoy meeting people, notice the small details and take pride in being part of a close-knit team, we’d love to hear from you. Experience is welcome, but attitude matters most.

Discover Life on Arran

Set in Blackwaterfoot on Arran’s west coast, Kinloch combines sweeping sea views with warm island hospitality. Our restaurant and bar welcome hotel residents, local diners and visitors, with food inspired by the island’s seasonal produce.

Arran offers beaches, mountains, coastal walks and welcoming communities, making it a distinctive place to live and work. At Kinloch, you’ll develop your hospitality skills with a supportive team and help share the relaxed character of island hospitality.

What We’re Looking For
Essential

· A naturally warm, approachable manner and a genuine interest in looking after people.

· Clear communication, good listening skills and confidence asking for help when needed.

· Reliable, attentive to detail and able to remain calm when service is busy.

· Comfortable taking accurate orders, answering questions and communicating dietary requirements.

· A flexible, team-first approach and willingness to learn different parts of the operation.

· Pride in presentation, cleanliness and delivering consistent standards.

· Able to follow food hygiene, allergen, licensing and health and safety requirements.

Desirable

· Previous hospitality or customer-service experience.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. Depending on the duties of the role, the successful candidate may be required to undertake an appropriate Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check as part of our safer recruitment process.
