Job Description

Post Title: Ecology Officer
Location: Inverness
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £41,423 - £44,899 p.a.

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Ecology Officer (HC08) to join our Ecology Team. However, we also welcome applications from candidates who may not meet all of the criteria listed below but have relevant professional experience and would like to enter a career within a local authority ecology service; such candidates may be considered for the Assistant Ecology Officer (HC07) role.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: The focus of this highly varied role is to provide ecology advice to the planning authority, developers and agents on a range of development proposals (ranging from housing and industrial sites to major infrastructure and renewables schemes) to minimise the impacts of development on important habitats and species and securing positive improvements for biodiversity. You will contribute to the development of strategy, policy and guidance, ensuring that biodiversity is considered across all functions of the Council.
