Food & Beverage Assistant – Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa

About the Restaurant

The Falls Brasserie is the main restaurant of Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, offering an inviting, relaxed-elegant dining environment with panoramic views of Lake Derwentwater and Cat Bells. The cuisine combines traditional British favourites with contemporary flair, emphasising local and regional ingredients to deliver simple yet flavourful dishes. As part of the food & beverage team, you’ll help deliver memorable guest experiences in a high-quality setting, for both hotel residents and external diners.

Key Responsibilities

· Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth service flow

· Take food and drink orders, answer menu questions, and make recommendations when appropriate

· Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation and service standards are maintained

· Clear and reset tables efficiently, ensuring the dining area is kept clean, tidy and inviting

· Support the preparation of the service area (setting tables, polishing cutlery/glassware, maintaining condiments etc.)

· Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure correct timing of courses and drinks, and assist as needed with side-service tasks

· Process payments (cash, card, room charges) accurately and adhere to cash handling procedures

· Adhere to health & safety, hygiene and licensing legislation (including allergen awareness) at all times

· Assist with special events, Sunday lunches, afternoon teas or other functions as required by the business

· Work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, as required in a hotel/resort environment

· Provide high standards of guest service, responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring guest satisfaction

About you

· Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel or catering environment is desirable, albeit not essential — full training will be given

· A friendly, enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine desire to deliver excellent guest service

· Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and adapt to changing demands in a busy hospitality setting

· Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with guests, colleagues and management

· Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining standards and cleanliness

· Flexibility in terms of working hours (evenings, weekends, bank holidays)
