Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting food preparation, cooking, and meal service in a fast-paced environment. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts and commitment to food safety will help ensure that every dish served meets high standards of quality and presentation. Duties

  • Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
  • Cook a variety of menu items, ensuring proper cooking techniques and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitizing work surfaces and equipment regularly
  • Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Support meal service by plating dishes efficiently and serving customers or guests as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying supervisors when stock needs replenishing
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals during busy periods

Experience

  • Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued highly
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and proper hygiene procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
  • Experience in meal preparation for large groups or in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain attention to detail
  • Serving experience or familiarity with customer service in a food environment is a plus
