Join The Street Bakeshop — 1 to 5 days a week, you tell us

We're hiring full-time and part-time across the team. Whether you want one shift a week or a full rota, we'll build it around you.

The Street Bakeshop is an award-winning artisan craft bakery in the heart of Hampshire.

THE ROLE

The Artisan Baker is responsible for producing exceptional handcrafted breads and bakery products while maintaining the standards, consistency, and craftsmanship that define The Street Bakeshop.

This is a hands-on production role. You work with care, precision, and pride. You understand that every loaf, every bake, and every product leaving the bakery reflects our standards.

Working closely with the Head Baker and wider bakery team, you help deliver high-quality products consistently while maintaining efficiency, organisation, and attention to detail throughout production.

PRODUCTION & BAKERY EXECUTION

§ Support daily and weekly bakery production

§ Mix, shape, prove and bake sourdoughs, artisan breads and speciality products

§ Monitor fermentation, dough development and bake consistency

§ Maintain organised and efficient production throughout shifts

§ Ensure all sections are prepared and stocked for service and production

§ Support wider bakery operations where required

PRODUCT QUALITY & CONSISTENCY

§ Produce breads and bakery products to a consistently high standard

§ Maintain consistency in appearance, flavour, texture and finish

§ Ensure no product leaves the bakery below standard

§ Follow recipes and production methods accurately

§ Protect brand standards across retail and wholesale products

FOOD SAFETY, HYGIENE & ALLERGEN COMPLIANCE

§ Maintain full compliance with food safety and allergen procedures

§ Ensure bakery areas remain clean, organised and audit-ready

§ Follow cleaning schedules and hygiene standards consistently

§ Handle ingredients and products safely and correctly

§ Complete all required records accurately

STOCK CONTROL & WASTE MANAGEMENT

§ Support effective stock rotation and ingredient management

§ Minimise waste through careful production and planning

§ Report stock shortages or product issues immediately

§ Maintain awareness of production efficiency and yield

TEAMWORK & CULTURE

§ Work closely with the bakery and pastry teams

§ Maintain a positive, professional and reliable attitude

§ Support team members during busy production periods

§ Communicate clearly and respectfully

§ Contribute to maintaining high standards across the bakery
