Full job description

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead Arena Village, Leeds, a vibrant student accommodation community and a key part of our Ottoway Services Limited UK portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader to take full responsibility for the operational performance, resident experience, compliance, and people leadership of a large accommodation operation.

As General Manager, you'll lead from the front, creating a safe, welcoming and high-performing environment for residents, guests, visitors and colleagues, whilst ensuring the village consistently delivers against its commercial and operational objectives.

What you'll be doing

You will have overall responsibility for:

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of Arena Village
  • Delivering financial performance, KPIs and occupancy targets
  • Ensuring statutory compliance, health & safety and risk management standards are met
  • Leading, developing and motivating a multi-disciplinary site team
  • Maintaining high standards of service, presentation, security and cleanliness across the village
  • Managing contractor and supplier performance
  • Producing operational reports and performance updates for senior stakeholders
  • Supporting resident engagement initiatives that enhance occupancy and customer satisfaction
  • Building positive relationships within the local community and representing the business professionally at all times.

What we're looking for

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

Essential

  • Previous experience in a General Manager, Accommodation Manager or Leadership role
  • Experience within PBSA, residential, hospitality, BTR, hotels, facilities management or similar customer-focused environments
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities
  • A strong understanding of compliance, health & safety and operational risk management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

  • Experience managing large, high-occupancy sites
  • Student accommodation or hospitality experience
  • Exposure to multi-revenue or mixed-use environments
  • Experience presenting operational performance to senior leadership teams or investors.
