L3 Business Admin/Estates Apprentice with Dignity Funerals

Hours Per Week: 38.75

Short Description:

To support the estates team in delivering and managing a national portfolio of Funeral Directors and Crematoriums.This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of property disciplines, including commercial property, residential lettings, estate management, lease administration and property maintenance. The role is designed to provide a broad foundation of property knowledge while supporting the apprentice's professional development and future specialisation.Working closely with experienced property professionals, the apprentice will contribute to a variety of projects and day-to-day activities, developing valuable skills in communication, organisation, data analysis and stakeholder management. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, learning new skills, solving problems and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

In the interim, the apprentice will be based at our current office in:

Duke Street, Sutton Coldfield

Any additional travel costs incurred as a result of commuting to Sutton Coldfield before the office move will be covered by Dignity.

We’ve also joined the DignityGroup - one of the major providers of funeral services in the UK. Together,we’re on a mission to change the way the world deals with death. It’s no smalltask - and we’re looking for a Probate Solicitor to help us do it.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Progress and achievement in apprenticeship milestones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records using management systems, databases and trackers
  • Support with the development of materials for meetings and other management briefings
  • Maintain trackers and support in the meeting of deadlines in regards to lease breaks and closures.

Commercial Lease

  • Build competency across related property and estates areas including commercial and residential leasing.
  • Interpret leases (trained) to support with the investigation and resolution of faults and issues
  • Assist with lease negotiations to compile effective data
  • Prepare draft documentation including Heads of Terms and Rent Review Memoranda

Branch Liaison

  • Coordinate the arrangement of visits with contractors, landlords and other stakeholders maintaining the appropriate systems in the process
  • Contribute with the preparation of management information and data to make effective business decisions

Repair Obligation

  • Work with the onsite facilities team to manage ongoing repairs and maintenance and report to landlords where applicable.

Finance

  • Support with the collation and budgeting of various financial documents that underpin the estates processes.

Property Sourcing

  • Support with the sourcing of relevant properties and contribute effectively to the ongoing project plan of site relocation's and openings.

Skills Required:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Beneficial: Either
  • Experience of clerical detail orientated work

Or

  • Experience in retail or another high intensity customer facing role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written communication skills
