Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roof Tiler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience with construction-related tasks and the use of specialised tools is essential. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality projects.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications related to roofing projects.
  • Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
  • Repair or replace damaged roof sections, including tiles, slates, or metal sheets.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks.
  • Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, slates, or metal sheets to ensure proper placement on roofs.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in roofing with NVQ2 in Tiling and slating preferable alongside cscs card
  • Proficiency with schematics, technical drawings, and blueprint reading.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
  • Knowledge of roofing materials including tiles, slates, metal sheets, and waterproof membranes.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures relevant to construction sites involving roofing activities.
  • Physical fitness to work at heights on roofs for extended periods.
  • Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their careers within the construction industry while working on diverse roofing projects that demand precision and craftsmanship.

Pay: £14.78-£28.14 per hour
