About Us

We are a growing commercial construction contractor delivering high-quality refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, and construction projects across a range of sectors including retail, industrial, office, education, and healthcare. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable General Builder to join our team.

The Role

As a General Builder, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of building and maintenance works on commercial projects. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • General building works including brickwork, blockwork, concreting, and repairs.
  • Basic carpentry, plastering, tiling, and finishing tasks.
  • Refurbishment and fit-out works on commercial properties.
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance works.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Working alongside subcontractors and site management teams.
  • Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Builder within the construction industry.
  • Strong all-round building skills and practical knowledge.
  • Ability to work from drawings and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • CSCS Card preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Desirable Qualifications

  • SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous but not essential).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working on commercial refurbishment or fit-out projects.
  • Additional trade qualifications.
