We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team covering the Edinburgh area.

Role Overview:

You will be expected to carry out a wide range of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishments within occupied and void social housing properties. The role requires competence across multiple trades, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with health & safety and customer care standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting & decorating, tiling, and basic electrical works.
  • Respond to day-to-day repair requests and emergency call-outs in occupied homes.
  • Carry out Damp & mould property works to ensure homes meet the “Lettable Standard” before reoccupation.
  • Carry out reactive & void property works to ensure homes meet the “Lettable Standard” during occupation.
  • Carry out void property works to ensure homes meet the “Lettable Standard” during occupation and before reoccupation
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, explaining the nature of work, expected timescales, and any disruption.
  • Deliver a polite, professional, and respectful service, particularly in occupied homes.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant building regulations, company policies, and H&S procedures.
  • Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working environments.
  • Complete work right first time, minimising follow-up visits.
  • Record work details accurately via handheld device or job sheet system.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good order.
  • The post holder will also, as required, provide an out of hours service provision on a rota or other basis.

You Will Need:

  • Proven ability across multiple trades, ideally within social housing or domestic settings
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a core trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering).
  • Experience working in occupied properties with a strong focus on customer care.
