We are currently seeking a versatile individual capable of handling multi-trade responsibilities, specifically focusing on plastering work and related tasks. This role encompasses a wide range of wet trade works, and it is essential that the candidate possesses experience in associated trades such as carpentry, PVC, tiling, paving/brickwork, and painting. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in plastering, hold a City & Guilds apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, and hold a full valid UK driving license. Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality/Delivery- Maintain the required quality standard of workmanship for all tasks. Carry out work in line with current legislation, British standards, codes of practice, safe systems of work, and recognized industrial standards
  • Customer Service/Focus- Foster strong working relationships with colleagues/clients/customers and be a valuable team player.
  • Offer friendly and efficient assistance to the general public to meet their service needs.
  • Safety- Keep the work environment secure and have a good grasp of relevant health and safety legislation.

Job Purpose Undertake plastering work and associated tasks

All aspects of wet trade works

Travelling from site to site — A driving licence essential

Key Responsibilities

Duties Key Performance Area 1: Quality/Delivery

  • Ensure all work is carried out to specification and the required quality standard of workmanship.
  • Liaise with other employees of the Company as necessary to complete specified works.
  • Ensure levels of productivity and work within the required timescales/categories.
  • Carry out work by Current Legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, Safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work.

Key Performance Area 2: Customer Service/Focus

  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues/clients/customers and work as part of a team.
  • Deal courteously and efficiently with the general public to meet the needs of the Service user.
  • Understand and be committed to customer care.

Key Performance Area 3: Safety

  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.

Other Responsibilities

  • All works carried out can be inside or outside in various conditions.
  • Wet Trades — This will also cover small amounts of paving/brickwork and painting.
  • Plasterers may have to work at heights off ladders, platforms or scaffolding. Protective clothing and headgear is normally required
  • As with all multi-trade positions, experience is required in other trades, especially associated work.
  • Internal partitions use plasterboard/wallboard for walls/ceiling and floors use timber also. Drylining/plastering/rendering/screed and coving to ceilings, floors and walls. Also applying protective coverings such as pebble dashing on external walls using a range of hand tools and sometimes spraying equipment.
  • Tiling — To install glazed tiles to areas required using spacers.
  • Lay on a clean and level surface using tools to cut if required. Once tiles have been set apply grout between, wiping away excess grout.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Have experience and extensive knowledge of plastering

City & Guilds apprenticeship, or other recognised qualification

Have experience in associated trades (i.e. carpentry, PVC, tiling, paving/brickwork, painting)

Hold a full valid UK driving licence

Communication

Have strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to work under their own initiative with excellent communication and customer-facing skills

Customer service skills

Able to use PDA/Mobile apps to message, store and record job details and communication.

Working with others

Able to work independently and as part of a team Proven record of working as part of a team, but can use own initiative to work alone.

Responsibilities

General Be physically fit. Have good coordination and practical ability

Have numeracy skills for calculating surface areas to be covered and volumes of materials required/needed

Have creative ability for fibrous plastering and other decorative work

Be aware of H&S issues/requirements
