Overview
We are seeking an additional skilled Timber Frame Designer/Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of design principles and be proficient in various design software. This role involves collaborating with clients, architects and engineers to create detailed drawings and plans that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in the production of timber frame structures.

To work as part of a manufacturing team, designing for production to clients’ specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the interpretation of clients’ requirements in the design phase of projects.
  • Preparation of detailed timber frame structural design, ready for production
  • Ensure compliance throughout the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
  • Participate in design/process reviews as required.
  • Liaise and build effective working relationships with LTF clients.
  • Keeping up to date with changes, applicable UK and European legislation
  • Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.
  • Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post.

Candidates applying for the post of Design/Architectural Technician will be expected to demonstrate their ability to meet the following criteria:

Essential

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup
  • Ideally knowledge of timber frame design preferred but not mandatory
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • UK Driver’s Licence, access to own transport

  • 3 years experience

  • Natural aptitude for logical problem solving.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally with colleagues and clients.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
