About Us

We are a global leader in the trading, processing and recycling of raw materials for the stainless-steel industry, as well as high-performance materials including superalloys and titanium.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Sheffield team,

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday

  • Week 1: 07:30 – 16:30 (42.5 hours)
  • Week 2: 07:00 – 16:00 (42.5 hours)

Salary: Dependent on experience

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of industrial plant and equipment across our UK operations. You will work as part of a proactive maintenance team, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Install, service and overhaul mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Travel to other UK sites when required.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems.
  • Experience maintaining heavy industrial equipment such as: Material Handlers, Forklift Trucks (FLT), Shovel Loaders
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working on balers.
  • Experience maintaining densifier plants.
  • Knowledge of recycling or metals processing operations.
