We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ more than 300 employees across the two companies, Express Engineering (Gateshead) and Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech).

We are currently seeking a Welder (Fabricator) to join our team experienced in TIG, MIG and / or SMAW manual welding.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Carry out TIG, MIG and/or SMAW welding to a high standard in line with detailed engineering drawings and follow strict company WPS’s.
• Fabricate components and assemblies accurately working from technical drawings.
• Work collaboratively with Supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organised working environment.

Skills & Experience:

• Time served with a Level 3 qualification in welding and fabrication, or equivalent.
• Experienced in TIG, MIG and / or SMAW manual welding.
• Proven experience in fabrication working to detailed drawings.
• Familiar with a wide range of materials including Non-Ferrous, Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium.

• Working a rotating two-week shift pattern: 5 x day shift and 4 x night shift.
• Shift allowance of 29.25% of basic rate per hour. Overtime is paid at time and half.
