Ingenieur is a progressive subcontract engineering company. Accredited to AS9100 and ISO9001 our experience, expertise and efficient approach have ensured us to become a trusted name throughout Southern England.

Operating from our bespoke 12000 sq./ft facility in Chandlers Ford we offer CNC Turning and 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Milling services, supplying precision machined components to the Aerospace, Defence, Medical and commercial industries.

We are seeking a proactive 3 or 5 Axis CNC Programmer to join our team in a structured development role, with a clear pathway towards a future leadership position. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong programming fundamentals, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ambition to grow into a Lead role, taking on increased responsibility for process optimisation, mentoring colleagues, and supporting wider manufacturing objectives over time.

The Role:

  • Programming, Setting and operating 3 and 5 axis machining operations, assisting with program creation, prove-out, and continuous improvement as you develop your skills and experience.
  • Interpret complex 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to manufacture precision components to exacting tolerances and strict quality standards.
  • Contribute to improving CNC programs and machining processes, helping to build efficiency, consistency, and cost awareness as your experience grows.
  • Apply a strong understanding of machining fundamentals and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Collaborate closely with our production team, quality department, and management team to ensure delivery schedules, quality requirements, and customer expectations are consistently met.

Candidate experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with CNC machines, with an interest in developing your skills in programming and supporting 3 or 5 axis machining in a production or precision engineering environment.
  • Proven experience machining a range of materials including steels, aluminium, alloys, titanium and engineering plastics.
  • Good knowledge of Heidenhain Controlled machines.
  • Experience with One Cnc would be desirable and/or HyperMILL/Fusion 360 would be advantageous.
  • Highly quality-focused, with exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving capability, and a structured, methodical approach to work.
  • Confident communicator at all levels, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. A proactive, reliable team player who takes ownership of outcomes.
  • Experience of, mentoring and supporting junior members of staff and apprentices, contributing to skill development and best-practice standards within the business.
