Job Description:

We are looking for a committed online and in-person (Canterbury and Thanet area with own vehicle) English teacher/ Examiner to join our experienced team.

As a GCSE and A-Level English teacher, your responsibilities will include preparing lesson plans, presenting learning material, tracking students' performance and homework, and writing termly progress reviews.

To be successful in this role, you should be committed to facilitating learning in a safe and supportive environment. Top-notch candidates will demonstrate a reflexive approach to teaching.

GCSE/ A-Level English Teacher Responsibilities:

Preparing and delivering lessons to improve students' reading, writing, and conversing skills.

Developing educational content such as notes and quizzes.

Assigning activities to facilitate students' consolidation of learning material.

Tailoring your teaching style in accordance with students' needs.

Managing interpersonal dynamics to ensure that the class is conducive to learning.

Tracking and reporting on students' progress- in class assessment and homework.

Use our business forms for tracking and monitoring progress.

Ensuring that your equipment for online learning is in good working condition at all times.

Online English Teacher Requirements:

Enhanced DBS (current) or registered to the update service.

Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialisation in English Literature/ Language (or equivalent).

Proven experience as a GCSE/ A-Level English teacher, preferably within a school or college, working with different specifications (AQA, Edexcel and iGCSE).

Examiner experience (2+ years) for AQA, Edexcel and iGCSE.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Own laptop or desktop computer equipped with an HD webcam.

Fast and stable internet connection.

Excellent computer skills.

Organised and attentive to students' needs.

A team player.

Has taught the following texts and has a high level of 7-9 grades and top grades at A-Level.

GCSE- Jekyll and Hyde, An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, Much Ado, A Christmas Carol, Journey’s End.

A-Level- Kite Runner.
