Job Type: Freelance, fully remote, commission-only

We are looking, on behalf of a student recruitment company, for freelance Student Recruitment Officers with strong connections across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

This role is suited to someone who already has access to potential students through their community, workplace, social network, local organisations or professional contacts. You will introduce suitable UK-based adults who are genuinely interested in progressing into higher education.

You do not need to manage university applications yourself. An experienced admissions team handles eligibility checks, applications and enrolment support once a suitable student has been referred.

How you are paid

This is a commission-only opportunity.

Commission is based on the number of students you refer who successfully enrol and continue attending:

• 1–9 enrolled students: £600 per student
• 10–19 enrolled students: £750 per student
• 20+ enrolled students: £1,000 per student, with eligibility for a £5,000 advance

Once you reach a higher commission tier, that rate applies to all confirmed students within that intake.

For example, 12 confirmed students at the £750 tier would generate £9,000 commission for that intake.

Commission payments

Commission is paid in three instalments during the academic year as the student continues progressing:

• First payment: after the student has started studying, is attending and has completed their initial academic requirements
• Second payment: following continued attendance and satisfactory progression
• Final payment: when progression or re-enrolment to the next stage is confirmed

What you will do

• Build referrals through your existing network in Manchester and surrounding areas
• Speak with adults who may be interested in starting university
• Identify motivated and genuine prospective students
• Complete an initial pre-screen before referring them
• Submit referrals through our referral process
• Help referred students provide documents and attend scheduled appointments
• Stay in contact with the admissions team while applications are progressing

Who this role suits

• Already have a genuine network of potential students
• Have strong connections within Manchester communities
• Are confident building relationships and generating referrals
• Can work independently and manage their own pipeline
• Take an ethical approach to student recruitment

Previous experience in student recruitment, education, community outreach, sales, recruitment or referral-based work would be advantageous, but having access to a genuine student network is more important.

This is not a cold-calling role and we are not looking for applicants who intend to rely entirely on leads being supplied to them.

Location

The role is fully remote, but we are specifically recruiting individuals with networks in Manchester and Greater Manchester.

Students referred must be UK-based. We do not currently recruit international students through this role.
