Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Traffic Marshall to oversee vehicle and pedestrian movements on construction sites or event locations. The successful candidate will ensure safety protocols are adhered to, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and assist in maintaining a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills and a background in construction or traffic management. The Traffic Marshall will be responsible for directing traffic, managing site access, and supporting overall site safety.

Responsibilities

  • Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely around the site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Control access points to monitor entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and equipment
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, visitors, and team members to provide clear instructions
  • Assist in setting up signage and barriers as required for site safety
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of surroundings to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviours
  • Record vehicle movements or incidents as necessary for site documentation
  • Support other site personnel in maintaining a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in construction or traffic management roles is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey instructions clearly in English
  • Valid driving licence is preferred to assist with vehicle movements if required
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites or event spaces
  • Ability to remain alert and vigilant during long periods of duty
  • Organised, responsible, and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Must be physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: £17.00 per hour
