Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Banksman- to join our busy waste management site. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the sites daily operations. Priority is to ensure the operation is managed safely with all staff and visitors follow correct site procedures and governed regulations at all times, while collaboration with site management to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- · Monitor and direct all incoming and outgoing traffic within the yard.
- · Check and access waste as it enters site to ensure it is permitted on the site permit
- · Direct site users to the correct tipping location within the yard
- · Ensure that all site users follow site rules and any infringements are reported
- · Ensure that housekeeping standards in the yard are maintained to the highest level at all times
- · Report all accidents and incidents in accordance with company rules, Assisting with specific investigations as appropriate
Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience
- · knowledge of the waste, metals and recycling industries
- · Good working knowledge and experience of associated plant and machinery
- · Shows safety and environmental awareness throughout the industry and site permits
- · identify areas for continual improvement and finding ways to resolve issues
- · Willingly take on additional workload to help other team members while maintaining a positive attitude.
- · Has experience of operating a weighbridge
Skills / Competencies
- · Strong knowledge of goods vehicles and their operation.
- · Banksman Trained
- · Strong interpersonal skills
- · Excellent Organizational Skills
