Location: Haringey
Salary: £115-£120 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Are you a recent/upcoming science graduate with a passion for education?
If you're considering a future in teaching and want to gain meaningful experience in the classroom, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a full-time role supporting secondary school students in a dynamic North London school.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Science Graduate to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Haringey as a Teaching Assistant. You'll work closely with students aged 11-16, supporting them in science lessons and across the curriculum. This is a fantastic first step for graduates who are serious about progressing into teacher training or are considering working within education. This school offers teacher training to promising TAs and has put multiple Science Grads through this pathway in the last 2-3 years.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging science lessons

  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with classwork, homework, and revision

  • Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Offering targeted support to students who may need extra help grasping key scientific concepts

  • Contributing to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and enrichment

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in a science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field)

  • A genuine interest in working with young people and in education

  • Some experience with secondary-aged pupils - e.g., through tutoring, mentoring, summer schools, or previous TA work

  • A confident communicator with good organisational skills

  • A proactive, positive, and reliable approach

Why This Role?

  • Gain real classroom experience before committing to teacher training

  • Be part of a supportive and ambitious school environment

  • Receive on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced educators

  • Build your confidence, skills, and understanding of how to support diverse learners

  • Convenient location in Haringey with strong transport links to central and East London

How to Apply:
If you're a motivated science graduate who's ready to make an impact, apply today. We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis and would love to hear from you.
