CBT Therapist or Psychologist

About us:

At Gordon Moody, we believe in second chances and building lives free from gambling harm. As the UK’s leading charity for gambling- related harm support, we offer specialist residential treatment and holistic care to those most affected.

For more than 50 years, we have been a trusted leader in gambling addiction recovery, combining specialist expertise with a deep commitment to transforming lives. Our evidence-based approach delivers measurable outcomes and industry-leading success rates, helping individuals achieve meaningful and lasting recovery.

At the heart of everything we do is a people-first philosophy, providing compassionate, personalised support tailored to each person's unique journey. We also recognise that recovery is deeply personal, which is why we offer a discreet, professional and respectful environment where individuals can rebuild their lives with confidence, dignity and trust.

What you'll do: You'll deliver evidence-based psychological treatment to individuals experiencing gambling-related harms, working within individual and group settings across our residential programmes in Redditch. This is an opportunity to make a genuine, measurable impact—providing trauma-informed care that supports people in rebuilding their lives.

You’ll conduct specialist psychological assessments and deliver structured CBT interventions. Work with individuals experiencing addiction and co-occurring mental health difficulties, developing collaborative treatment plans. Facilitate psychoeducational groups and relapse prevention programmes.

Monitor clinical risk and safeguarding, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team. Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and contribute to audit and service improvement initiatives.

Experience needed

· Must be BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist (or actively working towards accreditation) with a postgraduate qualification in CBT.

· You have proven experience delivering CBT in mental health or addiction settings, conducting psychological assessments, facilitating therapeutic groups, and supporting people with complex trauma.

· Strong knowledge of CBT theory, evidence-based interventions, including some experience with addictions (such as Substance or Alcohol), and relapse prevention.

Desired:

Gambling related harm experience.

Residential treatment centres.

Additional therapeutic modalities (EMDR, DBT, ACT, CAT, MBCT, IPT) are desirable.

Why us: Few roles offer the chance to see real impact the way this one does. You'll be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives—where your expertise genuinely matters.

We help people to reclaim and rebuild their lives free from gambling-related harm in safe, supported environments by providing the most effective therapies, interventions, and counselling possible.

If you're looking for a rewarding career where your work can make a genuine, lasting difference to others' lives, we'd love to hear from you.

This role is based onsite at our treatment centre in Redditch B97.
