Full job description

Trainee Dental Nurse – Private Practice | Canary Wharf

Start your career in dentistry with a leading private dental practice in Canary Wharf.

Platinum Dental Care is an independent, fully private dental practice in Canary Wharf, and we are looking for a motivated and professional Trainee Dental Nurse to join our team.

No previous dental experience is required. What matters to us is your attitude, communication skills, reliability and willingness to learn.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a genuine career in dentistry and has the potential to develop into an exceptional Dental Nurse.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on training role where you will learn all aspects of dental nursing while working alongside experienced clinicians and an established nursing team.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of dentistry, from routine general care through to cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, endodontics, implants and oral surgery.

You will also learn to work with modern digital dental technology, including iTero digital scanners, CBCT and AI-assisted imaging.

From the beginning, you will be expected to take an active role in your own development. We will provide training, guidance and support, but we are looking for someone who is keen to learn, asks questions, takes feedback well and progressively takes greater responsibility as their skills develop.

What We’re Looking For

Previous dental experience is not essential. We are much more interested in finding someone with the right qualities.

You should be:

  • Friendly, confident and able to communicate well with patients and colleagues
  • Professional in your manner and presentation
  • Reliable, punctual and organised
  • Naturally attentive to detail
  • Proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high-standard environment
  • Able to take feedback positively and learn from it
  • Willing to study alongside your practical training
  • Genuinely interested in developing a long-term career in dentistry

Dental nursing involves much more than assisting a dentist. You will help prepare surgeries, maintain excellent infection-control standards, support patients throughout their appointments, assist with clinical procedures and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

For the right person, it can develop into a highly skilled and rewarding career.

What We Offer

  • Support through your recognised Dental Nursing qualification
  • Hands-on training from an experienced clinical and nursing team
  • A structured development pathway as your skills and confidence grow
  • Exposure to general and advanced private dentistry
  • Modern, state-of-the-art clinical facilities and digital technology
  • GDC registration and professional indemnity covered upon qualification
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development
  • Opportunities for further development after qualification
  • Discounted dental and facial aesthetic treatments
  • Additional birthday leave and enhanced holiday entitlement
  • Regular team events
  • A professional, supportive and ambitious working environment

Working Pattern

3–4 days per week (approximately 27–36 hours)

Our normal working day for this role is:

  • 8:30am–6:30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break
  • Wednesdays may be 9:30am–7:30pm
  • 2 Saturdays per month, 8:30am–5:30pm, with time off in lieu

Applicants must be able to accommodate these working hours.

Who This Role Will Suit

We tend to find that the people who do particularly well within our team are those who take pride in doing things properly, communicate confidently, notice the small details and can be relied upon by the people around them.

You do not need to know everything when you join us — we can teach dental nursing.

What is much harder to teach is attitude, reliability, professionalism and a genuine desire to improve.

If you recognise those qualities in yourself and are serious about developing a career in dentistry, we would love to hear from you.

If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
