Trainee Bus Driver – We’ll Pay for Your PCV Licence!

Become a fully qualified Bus Driver with Diamond Bus North West at our depot in Eccles.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be supported and developed to start a new rewarding and challenging career. Whether you have always been interested in the transport industry, or are simply searching for a new challenge, this may be the right job for you! Once qualified you will be able to drive some of the brand new fleet of vehicles that we have in our depots.

Our Rotala Training Academy will help you gain the skills and knowledge required to obtain a full PCV licence. Experienced instructors will guide you through the whole process including the theory and practical exams.

As a Trainee Bus Driver you will be supported in all parts of the job, preparing you to start your career in the transportation industry. You will learn all necessary driving rules and regulations, health and safety elements of the Bus Driver job as well as how to provide outstanding service to our passengers.

Responsibilities

  • To arrive on time for training
  • To be engaged with the training process
  • To revise for module tests (Module 1A Theory, Module 1B Hazard, Module 2 CPC and Module 4 CPC Reverse test Module 3A Final driving test – Module 3B.PCV

Driver responsibilities

  • To complete first user checks in accordance with company procedures to ensure that the vehicle is road compliant before departure
  • To transport customs in a safe, controlled manner
  • To take fares and ensure that the company money is secure and paid in daily, also to ensure that all monies taken are reconciled to the amount taken on the day
  • Complete bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
  • To drive safely and keep to the traffic commissioners punctuality and reliability standards
  • To give excellent customer service
  • To be polite with all passengers
  • To comply with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Hold a full driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points or driving ban

  • Be personable and provide excellent customer service
  • A good understanding of English language and the ability to communicate with passengers is a must
  • You will be the face of our business – playing an incredibly important role each and every day, safely and comfortably transporting our fantastic customers across the region
