If you want to become a swimming teacher and enjoy an active and rewarding role with Freedom Leisure, then this is the ideal opportunity for you.

About the role

Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings (3.30pm to 7pm) and weekends (8am to 11am).

Various positions available - both Casual and Contracted covering:

  • Parent and Child lessons
  • School swimming lessons
  • Adult swimming lessons
  • Learn to Swim Lessons
  • Private Swim Lesson

Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by:

  • Goldenstones Leisure Centre, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 1QZ
  • Chard Leisure Centre, Fore St, Chard TA20 1PY

A DBS check will be required before starting your volunteering hours.

Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to find out more about the swimming teacher opportunity at an informal virtual meet and greet session and interview that will take place after the closing date. You don't need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.

There may be an opportunity for Swimming teachers to complete other qualifications e.g. lifesaving qualification (Pool Lifeguard or National Rescue Award). Swimming Teachers will be required to sign a training agreement with a commitment to work for a minimum of two years.
