Job Title: Trainee Fire & Security Alarm Engineer

We currently have opportunities for Trainee Fire & Security Engineers in the Cambridgeshire area.

The position offers a starting salary of £28,100 + overtime, paid door to door travel, standby payments, company vehicle and fuel card, 25 days holiday + English Bank Holidays.

Sunfish Services is a growing business specialising in fire detection systems, electronic security systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers. Established in 2004, the Company is certificated to BAFE SP203-1 and BS EN ISO 9001:2015.

The Company requires a reliable, committed and trustworthy individual for this position that has been created through the growth of the business.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • To service, maintain and install fire alarm systems, intruder alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems and emergency lighting in accordance with the relevant British Standards
  • Correctly complete engineer service reports
  • Report deficiencies or deviations in systems
  • Participate in the out of hours call out rota

Skills Required

  • Good electrical knowledge - City & Guilds Electrical qualifications or equivalent
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and safely work at height, ensuring conformance to health and safety requirements. Ability to use power tools
  • Self-starter and a team player

The company will provide comprehensive training for the right candidate

  • Knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge of intruder, CCTV and access control systems
  • FIA or equivalant Qualifications
