Full job description

Wholesale Coffee Account Manager - Manchester & Northern Region

Speciality Coffee | Barista Training | Customer Support

Love coffee? Know how to train people to make it better? Join our Account Management Team in Manchester & Northern Region

We’re looking for a Wholesale Account Manager to help us deliver exceptional coffee and build lasting partnerships across the north of the country. Based out of our Manchester site you’ll be responsible for looking after our customers based across our Northern Region.

At Extract Coffee Roasters, we roast speciality coffee with purpose. We work with some of the UK’s most respected cafés, restaurants and hospitality venues supporting them to serve consistently brilliant coffee and grow with us.

In this field-based role, you’ll take ownership of a regional portfolio of customers across Manchester and the north. From your first site visit to training support and ongoing care, you’ll be the link between our customers and the full Extract team, including our Technical, Training, Logistics and Roastery teams.

You’ll also play a key role in bringing new customers into the Extract community, identifying opportunities, managing onboarding and making sure everything runs smoothly from day one.

You’ll be based at Extract Manchester and spend much of your time out in the field. A full UK driving licence is required and due to our insurance you must be over the age of 25.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a portfolio of wholesale coffee customers across the northern region
  • Visit customers regularly to support coffee quality, service standards and account development
  • Deliver practical barista training, tastings, coffee education and quality support on-site
  • Help customers dial in coffee, improve consistency and troubleshoot quality issues
  • Support onboarding for new customers, including training, setup and first-stage relationship building
  • Work with the Regional Manager to grow accounts through new lines, cross-selling and upselling
  • Build strong relationships with baristas, café managers, business owners and hospitality teams
  • Represent Extract at events, launches, cuppings and coffee community activity
  • Log visits, training, customer feedback and account activity into our internal systems
  • Share customer insights with our Technical, Marketing, Logistics, Roastery and Customer Experience teams

What you’ll bring

We’re especially keen to hear from people with real, hands-on coffee experience.

You may have worked as a barista, head barista, coffee trainer, roaster, café manager, wholesale support person or in another coffee-focused hospitality role.

  • Strong practical knowledge of speciality coffee, espresso preparation and barista standards
  • Confidence training, coaching or educating others about coffee
  • Experience working with customers in cafés, hospitality, wholesale coffee or foodservice
  • The ability to talk confidently with everyone from baristas to business owners
  • A people-first approach, with warmth, professionalism and strong follow-through
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage your own schedule in the field
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in helping customer relationships grow
  • Confidence using digital tools such as CRM systems, scheduling apps or order platforms
  • Curiosity, kindness and optimism in how you work with customers and teammates

Account management or B2B sales experience would be helpful, but we’re open to people stepping into this from a strong coffee background. What matters most is that you understand coffee, can educate others well and know how to build trust with hospitality customers.

Why join us?

  • Competitive Salary: £30-35K based on experience & qualifications
  • 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday
  • Purpose-driven business with a mission to Make Coffee Better
  • Additional annual leave: 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (rising with service)
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing app
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Company pension scheme
  • Free coffee for home use
  • A collaborative, values-led team that cares about fairness, listening and learning

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Benefits:
