Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Groundie / Second Climber - Utility Arborist to join our dynamic team. This PAYE position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced arborists, supporting tree care and maintenance projects. The role involves assisting with climbing, ground operations, and ensuring safety standards are upheld on-site.

Key Duties:

  • Tree climbing, aerial pruning, and rigging operations
  • Safe tree felling, dismantling, and vegetation clearance
  • Operate chainsaws, MEWPs, and other tools in line with PUWER & LOLER
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and complete POWRA & RAMS
  • Collaborate with site managers, site supervisors, and contractors
  • Identify tree species and assess growth patterns and risks

Required Experience:

  • Previous work in utility arboriculture or near power lines
  • Excellent knowledge of arboricultural safety standards
  • Ability to work as part of a small, skilled team
  • Physically fit and confident working at height
  • Full UK Driving Licence required

Qualifications: (We can help with these should you need refresher training or additional tickets)

  • UA301 (UA1)
  • CS30 – CS41
  • MEWP / IPAF Certificate (Essential for UKPN projects)
  • Chainsaw Use from MEWP
  • Forestry First Aid (+F)
  • Manual Handling & Woodchippe

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
