Full job description

Following the massive success of our flagship Watford branch, Melto Cafe is expanding! We are opening a brand-new, second location in Hendon, and we are looking for a dedicated, passionate Full-Time Barista to join our founding team.

At Melto, we aren't your average coffee shop. Alongside top-tier specialty coffee, we serve up trendy, highly Instagrammable signature drinks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft Exceptional Drinks: Dial in espresso, steam perfect micro-foam, pour beautiful latte art, and build our signature cold drinks (boba, mocktails, and iced refreshers) to exact recipe standards.
  • Set the Standards: Help lead the bar during busy rushes, ensuring speed, quality, and consistency remain flawless.
  • Deliver Warm Hospitality: Greet customers, take orders accurately, make recommendation, and build a warm, welcoming community vibe.
  • Maintain Bar Operations: Keep the espresso machine, grinders, bar area, and seating space sparkling clean and organized (adhering to food safety and hygiene standards).
  • Opening/Closing Duties: Reliably manage opening set-up or closing clean-down procedures.

Requirements (What We’re Looking For):

  • Local Candidate: You must live locally in or very near Hendon for a stress-free commute to early morning opening or weekend closing shifts.
  • Solid Barista Experience: At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with professional espresso machines in a busy, high-volume cafe or restaurant. (Latte art skills are highly preferred!)
  • Full-Time Flexibility: Available to work a flexible rota across weekdays and weekends.
  • Fast & Efficient: Strong ability to maintain speed, quality, and a calm, friendly demeanor during heavy peak rushes.
  • Bubbly & Professional: A genuinely warm, customer-focused attitude. You love chatting with regulars and taking pride in your work.

Pay: £12.71-£13.90 per hour
