Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

  • Assist with meal preparation and food presentation according to established recipes and standards
  • Support the culinary team in cooking and plating dishes
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in line with food safety regulations
  • Help with food storage and organisation of ingredients to ensure freshness and safety
  • Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Ensure the kitchen area is organised, hygienic, and well-stocked at all times
  • Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
  • Support with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed

Skills

  • Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly
  • Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
