Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate qualified primary school teacher (QTS) to deliver weekly after school 11+ sessions for year 3, year 4 and year 5 pupils. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the academic and personal development of young learners.

This role is ideal for an experienced KS2 teacher or former teacher looking for flexible, focused teaching work without the pressures of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1-hour weekly in person sessions from 3:30pm - 4:30pm to a small group of children
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons focused on 11+ exam preparation English, Maths, Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning)
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, exam technique, and core skills
  • Create a structured and positive online learning environment

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2
  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
  • Experience with 11+ preparation
  • Confident delivering lessons in person
  • Excellent behaviour for learning strategies

Duties

  • Plan and deliver weekly one hour in person sessions every week during term time only
  • Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, exam technique, and core skills
  • Collaborate with parents, and guardians to support student well-being and academic achievement through regular feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in teaching or tutoring children upper key stage 2 level.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Compassionate approach with patience and understanding towards learners.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Experience with 11+ preparation

Pay: £30.00 per week

Work Location: In person
