Christmas at The Halston is one of the liveliest times of the year. From festive celebrations and private parties to weddings, dinners and our New Year’s Eve event, we’ll be welcoming hundreds of guests through our doors.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable people to join our Bar and Front of House team for the 2026 festive season.

Previous hospitality experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential. We’ll provide the training you need. What matters most is a positive attitude, confidence with guests and a willingness to get stuck in as part of a busy team.

The roles

Depending on your experience and the requirements of each event, your duties may include:

• Welcoming guests and helping them find their tables
• Serving food and drinks
• Taking food and drinks orders and clearing tables
• Preparing and serving drinks at the bar
• Keeping bars, service areas and event spaces clean, tidy and fully stocked
• Resetting tables and rooms during and after dinning
• Responding politely and helpfully to guest requests
• Working closely with colleagues to keep service running smoothly
• Helping with the preparation and close-down of Penny Blue

These are active roles involving long periods on your feet, carrying trays and working at pace in a busy events environment.

Pay

The advertised hourly rates include 12.07% rolled-up holiday pay:

• Age 21 and over: £14.29 per hour
• £12.75 basic pay plus £1.54 holiday pay
• Age 18–20: £12.22 per hour
• *£10.90 basic pay plus £1.32 holiday pay

Holiday pay is paid alongside your wages and will be shown separately on your payslip. This is why the total advertised hourly rate is higher than the basic rate.You will continue to accrue statutory annual leave during your employment and may request time away from work. However, because the holiday pay relating to your accrued leave is paid with your wages, you will not receive an additional holiday payment when leave is taken.All applicants must be aged 18 or over

Pay is subject to the usual tax and National Insurance deductions where applicable.

Contract and availability

• Temporary, irregular-hours contract for the Christmas season
• Employment period: 1 November 2026 to 2 January 2027
• Shifts will be offered according to our restaurant schedule
• Most shifts will be on Friday, Saturday and Sundays, day and/or evenings, with some other shifts.
• Evening shifts may finish late, so applicants should consider how they will travel home
• Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 14 shifts
• Availability on Boxing day, Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve is essential
• Additional availability throughout December will be an advantage
• As this is an irregular-hours position, the number and length of shifts may vary and specific hours cannot be guaranteed
