Full job description

The Role

This is a role for an ERP consultant who wants more than project delivery. You’ll stay close to the customer, own the outcome and help businesses get real value from the system.

We build ERP software that helps ambitious UK businesses run their day-to-day operations: orders, stock, purchasing, warehouse processes, reporting, customer service and more. Our customers do not just need software configured. They need someone who can understand how their business works, guide them through change, and help make sure the system genuinely improves how they operate.

As a Senior ERP Software Consultant, you will work directly with both new and existing customers. You will deliver ERP implementations, lead change with customers who are already using the system, improve existing setups, educate users, solve operational problems, and make sure our customers see the value of the system.

We are a small, agile and fast-moving business, so this is not a narrow “caretaker” role. You will be expected to get involved beyond the boundaries of a traditional implementation role, helping shape how we deliver, how our product develops, and how the wider business serves customers better.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with plenty of variety, autonomy and travel across the UK, including regular overnight stays.

You will be the trusted expert on the ground: running discovery sessions, mapping business processes, challenging assumptions, configuring solutions, supporting go-lives, leading improvement work with established customers and helping users build confidence in the system.

This is not a desk-only configuration role. You will need to be comfortable working with real businesses, real operational pressure and sometimes messy problems. You will also need the technical confidence to get under the hood when needed, including working with SQL and data to investigate, validate and support solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering ERP implementation projects for customers across different industries
  • Leading change and improvement work with existing customers, not just new implementations
  • Understanding customer workflows and translating them into practical ERP solutions
  • Running discovery, process mapping, training and go-live support
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and day-to-day users
  • Challenging customer assumptions constructively where a better approach is needed
  • Using SQL and technical investigation skills to support configuration, troubleshooting and data validation
  • Working closely with internal teams across support, product and development to resolve issues and improve delivery
  • Feeding customer insight back into the business so we improve the product, process and customer experience
  • Helping shape how we deliver projects and customer success as the business grows

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5 years’ experience implementing, consulting on or advising around ERP systems
  • Experience improving, optimising or leading change within existing ERP customer environments
  • Strong understanding of business processes such as stock, purchasing, order management, fulfilment, finance or reporting
  • Solid SQL and technical capability
  • Proven experience delivering successful projects and strong customer outcomes
  • Confidence training users and working with non-technical stakeholders
  • The ability to bring structure and calm when customers are under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, guide and influence
  • A practical, proactive mindset and willingness to get involved where the customer or business needs it
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and stay away from home regularly

What Makes This Role Different

You will not be buried in layers of process or kept away from the customer. You will have real ownership, direct access to leadership and the opportunity to shape how customer success is delivered.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year

Application question(s):

  • Tell us about an ERP implementation or improvement project you personally led. What was the business problem, what did you do, and what changed as a result?
  • Give an example of when you used SQL or technical investigation to understand or resolve a customer/business issue. What were you trying to find out, and what did you do with the result?
  • We’re very comfortable with candidates using GenAI tools to help structure their answers. Used well, they can be a useful way to organise your thoughts and communicate clearly.

That said, if your application progresses, we will explore your answers in detail during the interview process. Please make sure anything you submit genuinely reflects your own experience and that you can talk confidently about the examples, decisions and outcomes you describe.

Experience:

  • direct ERP systems: 5 years (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in England
