Full job description

LCM operate extensively within automotive industry and also reach into wider industries to provide a range of fully automated assembly solutions where robot automation & system commissioning plays a key role and at the centre of our core activities.

As such this is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work as part of a small team of dedicated and highly skilled engineers, delivering cutting edge robot and automated assembly solutions to our client base. This position will ideally suit an engineer who is comfortable working with both upfront design / off-line and hand-on programming and commissioning.

You will be involved in the upfront development of the project cycle right through to the build, commission and successful integration of the system at the clients site.

This will be an opportunity to be an integral part of the robot & commissioning team with a multi-faceted and varied role. Where you will be involved with the robot and automation process right from the initial concepts and up-front simulations through to your participation with technical specifications, equipment sourcing, system development, then on to the hands-on system building and programming through to the final system commissioning and client hand-over.

Robot programming & initial equipment hardware set-up and commissioning will be a key function of this role.

Ideally suited to a candidate with previous hand-on industrial robot programming experience, including; up-front EIO programming and set-up, off-line programming and the initial set-up and integration of associated hardware, such as weld guns, weld timers, mig weld equipment, sealant and gluing equipment, cameras and vision systems.

Experience and capacity to use of robot simulation software to generate off line programs, develop simulated layouts and processes to support initial concepts and final solutions would be a distinct advantage.

Previous experience of industrial robots ABB, Fanuc will be a preferred.

Any additional experience with Kuka & Yaskawa is desirable but not essential, as is experience and knowledge of PLC’s and/or competence with PLC programming in an industrial environment (e.g. Siemens TIA Portal)

Work Location: In person, base LCM Engineering, working at customer site when required.

Pay: £48,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
