Location: 100 Lower Thames St, London EC3R 6DL
Start Date: 7th September 2026
Programme Length: 4.5 years
Qualification on completion: BSc (Hons) Fire Safety Engineering - UCLan
Assessment day: 23rd June 2026 (London office)

We’re hiring two Fire Engineering Degree Apprentices to join Bureau Veritas in 2026.

About the apprenticeship
You’ll complete a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), combining classroom learning with hands‑on experience.
Programme highlights:

Duration:
4.5 years - 4 years of academic study
- Final 6 months completing your End Point Assessment (EPA)

Study location:
UCLan campus, Preston -
Format:
Block release (4 × two‑week blocks per year) -
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, typically 09:00–16:00

️ What you’ll be doing
As a Degree Apprentice Fire Engineer, you’ll be learning on the job while contributing to real projects.
You’ll:
- Support the design of
fire safety strategies
across a variety of buildings and projects - Assist in developing
fire safety reports, drawings, and technical documentation
- Learn how to apply
UK and international fire safety regulations
- Develop knowledge of
smoke modelling, evacuation analysis, and fire protection systems
- Work alongside experienced Fire Engineers, gaining hands‑on experience from day one
- Build the skills needed to become a fully qualified Fire Engineer
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for curious, motivated individuals who are ready to commit to a long‑term professional pathway.
You’ll ideally have:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in
Maths and English
(Grade 4/C or above) - A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (
Maths or STEM preferred
) - Strong
communication and problem‑solving skills
- A genuine interest in
engineering, safety, or the built environment
- The ability to balance
work and academic study
- Willingness to travel to
Preston
for block‑release study
