Salary roles (From £30,000 FTE per annum) and bank worker roles available (Day Rate - £119.96 (including holiday pay) - First 5 weeks will be paid at the induction rate. After completing 5 weeks of training, your rate will be reviewed).

Hours: Full-time(Part-time contracts available – applicants must be able to commit to 5 sessions per week, AM or PM)

This is not a traditional classroom role. As a TCW teacher, you’ll work with children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, trauma, and permanent exclusion.

Many of the students we support have experienced significant adversity, including challenging childhood experiences and traumatic events. They need consistent, understanding adults who can build trusting relationships, have high levels of emotional resilience, and help them rediscover their confidence and love of learning.

About the Role

You’ll deliver engaging, personalised education to students through one-to-one sessions and small group teaching across homes, learning centres and community venues throughout London.

You’ll teach a broad curriculum, including English, Maths and Science (to Foundation GCSE level), while supporting students’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

The role involves regular travel across London between students’ homes, learning centres and community venues. Travel costs are not reimbursed separately; teachers are responsible for their own travel costs.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds a certain level of resilience and responsibility - it is a role that is emotionally demanding. The work we do requires empathy, professionalism, emotional resilience and a commitment to reflective practice. It may also, at times, resonate with your own life experiences, so it is important that you feel able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
• Is able to travel across London (within your assigned South/East School boundaries)*
• Is able to commit to working with our students in term time and taking their leave in half terms.
• Has experience teaching or working with children and young people with additional needs.
• Can confidently teach English, Maths and Science to Foundation GCSE level.
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people.
• Is adaptable, organised and confident working independently.
• Can commit to our weekly training schedule.
